Macro-nutrient stress, such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, can cause disturbances in plant physiological processes that affect plant growth, productivity, and yield quality. This study aimed to analyze the effect of macro-nutrient stress on the growth and yield of leaf vegetable crops cultivated hydroponically. Pakcoy mustard (Brassica rapa var. chinensis) and romaine lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. romana) crops were cultivated in a greenhouse with a nutrient film technique (NFT) hydroponic system with eight different nutrient concentration treatments i.e. control, -N, -P, -K, 0%, 50%, 150%, and 200% treatments. Observations were made on growth parameters such as plant height, number of leaves, canopy area, and fresh weight. The results showed that macro-nutrient stress significantly affected plant growth and yield. Nutrient deficiency conditions in the -N, -P, -K, 0%, and 50% treatments resulted in lower plant growth and yield compared to the control treatment in pakcoy and romaine lettuce. The N and 0% nutrient deficiency treatments had the lowest growth and yield in all parameters. Macronutrient deficiencies of N, P, and K can inhibit the growth and reduce the yield of leaf vegetable crops, both pakcoy and romaine lettuce.Downloads
